Digipack Front Cover Production

This is the image that we took to be set as our front cover made into Black and White. We did this because the theme of the digipack is Black and White and we had to make all the pages of the digipack tie in together.

We then put the colour back into the artist give him his own identity and make the artist the centre piece of the front cover. This is important as because our genre is singer songwriter, it is important that the focus is completely on the artist. Another reason why we added colour back into the artist is because the brand image of the artist is his suit. We wanted to get this point across to the consumer.

We wanted to keep it simple in terms of the front cover so we added simple text just to explain the artist name and the album title.

Advert Deconstruction: Jamie T - Chaka Demus

The first thing that the reader notices is the bold font and use of colour schemes. The artist name is written in bold and red writing to stand out from the rest of the poster as it is the most important thing as it creates brand image and is also the thing that the reader needs to take from the advert. This particular advert is advertising an EP of his, so therefore the next most obvious thing is the name of the EP. This is important because the record label and the artist want the reader to go away and listen to this record and create a "buzz". Then to please the record label and spend their money on either downloading it or physically buying a copy from a shop. The image on the advert is of the artist looking through a whole at the reader. This image is in black and white to suggest an unfinished vibe to the reader. This is because looking at the advert is not enough, the reader then needs to listen to the EP to then colour in the image or perhaps fill in the blanks so they can put they're own personal opinion on it.
The advert is also trying to spread awareness and a brand image of the artist. For the advert to achieve these two objectives, the advert must "speak" to its audience. This advert is appealing to a younger generation, as the music does. The stereo typically "rebellious" side to the artist is represented well within the advert.
